Yes, exercise helps to increase HDL and also getting a little more monounsaturated fats, such as olive oil, canola oil, nuts and avocados.

I lowered my cholesterol by changing my diet alone and dropping 45 pounds. I went from almost 250 to 191 in less than 6 months. The doctor prescribed cholesterol-lowering drugs to me, but I refused to take them.

Now, some people, usually because of genetics, can't lower their cholesterol on their own no matter what they do. They HAVE to resort to drugs. But the drugs should be last resort. You should try it through diet and exercise FIRST. These drug companies are getting rich off of people who believe that cholesterol CAN'T be lowered without drugs.

And it can. Don't let them con you.
