They are both fibrates Kathy. I think Zetia is more for LDL and Tricor is mostly for the Trigs. and VLDL. Do a web search, just type in ...what is Zetia, then the same for Tricor and it gives U all the info.

Ezetimibe (ZetiaŽ) is an anti-hyperlipidemic medication. It acts by decreasing cholesterol absorption in the intestine. It is used together with statins to help lower cholesterol in patients who cannot be controlled on statins alone.

Tricor helps reduce types of fat in the blood. Tricor is especially good at lowering triglycerides and a form of cholesterol called very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL).
