I already take cinnamon supplements for my diabetes, which I know can also elevate triglycerides. MrsQueeZ
Hi Mrs QueeZ,

Not sure who told you that cinnamon elevates triglycerides. Cinnamon lowers triglycerides and stabilizes blood sugar.

Sugar is the number one reason for high trigs. The next is simple carbs.

Make sure you fast for a full 12 hours before bloodwork and drink at least 8 ounces of water before your test. Drinking water makes it much easier for the lab to draw blood.

If your triglycerides are still very high, ask your doctor to measure your HDL and LDL directly. The standard lipid test uses a formula to calculate LDL based on your total cholesterol.

Finally got hubby taking it, and also he found a nice apple/cinnamon oatmeal he likes, so we are making progress with him. I'm really hoping his Trigs. next test come down, as U know, he is always in the 400's. Oh well, at least he is giving it the old college try... :)

Have a good one, and TTYL....
