I've been religiously following a diet targeting Insulin Resistance, published by the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center, created by Sheri Barke, MPH, RD:


It's a difficult diet consisting of small frequent meals of low calories and high fiber. I started it in December 2004. My triglycerides have fallen by 50%, my LDL has fallen by 24% and my HDL has risen by about 13% and my weight has fallen by about 17% and I feel much better than I did. I am not taking any Cholesterol meds or supplements.
