Last year my number was 242, last week it was 220. I have been taking Flax Seed Oil for the past 6 months or so, but would have never thought I would lower it that much, especially since my diet is not so hot.

I started because I had been hearing about how benefical Omega-3 is for you, specifically fish oil and flax oil. I chose the flax oil, because I'd heard about the burping from fish oil.

My brother has been taking the fish oil for several months and getting his tested again in couple of months, so I'll be interested to see how his turns out. His primary physician recomended he take it.

I take 2,000 mg daily, but you can take more than that, it won't hurt you. I am going to double mine to 4,000 and test again in 4 months.

I took Lipitor several years ago, and got mine lowered a lot, but stopped it. I would NEVER take a statin again.

You know when mainstream Drs. are advising Omega-3, there is something good about it. They usual don't want to talk about taking supplements other than a Multi Vitamin! Better than them pushing every drug that comes out on the market for every ailment.

Glad to hear U found an alternative to taking a statin. Many of us just can't handle them, so try as many things as possible to try and lower those numbers. Have U also tried drinking green tea and taking 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon, stuff right off your spice rack? Don't know if it was a fluke or not, but a few months ago I got re testedafter 3 months of green tea and the cinnamon, and my TC was down to 198 from 232 and LDL down 126 from 161. I also have oatmeal each morning and take 500 C in the a.m. and now 500 C after dinner. My dr. couldn't believe my numbers, nor could I, like I told her, maybe they sent her someone elses test results. LOL I've been doing the oatmeal for over a year and have always ranged about the same, so if the new numbers were right, it had to be the new stuff with the tea and cinnamon. I just buy a cheap bottle at my grocery store. The cinnamon is suppose to keep your glucose stable.

Oh well, we will see in late Jan. if it was the new stuff or a fluke. Also have hubby doing it, and his cardio guy is dying to see if it works, as hubbys TC is always fine, but his lousy Trigs are always 400+.

Good going, and hope it keeps working for U and hopefully your brother...
