and in only 2 weeks, my leg pain was back with a vengeance. My tc was 245 a year ago, and is now up to 260. Also, the bad was worse and the good was also worse. Triglycerides about the same. So, I agreed to try it again. I gave it 3 weeks, but I have stopped taking it. I took it for 7 years before I started having problems, and even though I had been off of it for 1 1/2 years, my legs were never the same. They got better, but not back to normal. While I was taking it before, if you just barely poked my leg with your finger, the pain was terrible. When I laid in a med/firm bed, the pain of my hip bone on my muscle was like someone was stabbing me (and I have plenty of fat there to protect it). My doc has never really believed that the muscle pain and weakness was from the lipitor. Wonder why docs just don't get it? I would like to be able to take the med. My father died at 51 years old. I have already outlived him by 7 years, but I want to live mannnnny more! I haven't called my doc yet, but I am sure she will think I didn't give it a good shot.

You two women can have a simple test done to find out if you have PMR.(poly maligia rhumattica) spelling ? but the blood test is what is called a sedmentation count. This told me what was wrong and as put on Prenisone for several years, but get this, it was the Lipiror that caused all the muscle pains from my shoulders to my legs, and while I was on Lip. The test showed positive. Once off LIP> I feel great.

I suggest you ask your Dr. the simple words ---PMR and see his reaction.

I am on Zetia which has no satins. and seem to work prety well with some all natural supplements and Omega 369 Oil.
