Tricor
Nov 21, 2006
Hey eveyone, I'm interested in anyone's experience with Tricor. I have been on Zocor for about a year, and year before that on Lovastatin and have had good results with my total choleterol, LDL and HDL, but have not had any affect on my Triglycerides. My last test was two weeks ago and total was 167, LDL 51, HDL 37 and Tri's were 399. My numbers on my test three months earlier had been total cholesterol of 170, LDL 63, HDL 40 and tri's were 333.

Over the last 2 years my tri's have bounced between 330 and 399 while my other numbers have been good. This is the first time my HDL has dropped below 40. I have been agressive with my diet by limiting empty carbs, cholesterol and refined sugars and maintained a regular exercise routine losing 50 pounds this year (still need to loose another 30), yet it has had little affect on my tri's.

As a result, my cardiologist has changed my medication from Zocor to Tricor and I'm just curious about any experiences you all may have had with Tricor.
What kind of results or side affects has anyone else had?

Tony
