| I think that the doctor said HDL=147.
However, let's assume that I heard incorrectly but that the other numbers are correct.
We can use this formula to solve for HDL:
LDL = Total Cholesterol - HDL - (Triglycerides/5)
This yields HDL=147. Thanks for everyone's comments.
I am learning alot from you and this forum.
My fried fish is lightly breaded and I blot it afterwards - still it is very oily.
My doc says the usual "eat less fat, meat, cheese, etc."
He is focused on the high LDL and high total cholesterol.
A few years ago, my #s used to be normal.
I was eating a lot of lentils back then.
I have been reading about niacin and may consider supplements. |
