No, I never had any cholesterol meds. The closest was the fenofibrate (Tricor) I took for elevated triglyceride/low HDL problems. I had triglycerides in excess of 400 mg/dL at one point and Tricor helped me get them back down to under 150. My dietary changes didn't come until a few years after inclusion of Tricor. Prior to that, I had been on an ACE inhibitor, beta blocker, and HCTZ, just to get my bp down to 120/80. I also had been on Amaryl from the ned of 2000 to mid-2002.
Now, I take 10 mg Altace (ACE Inhibitor) and 10 mg Zyrtec for allergies and currently back up to 500 mg Niaspan. The rest of what I do are supplements based upon my own reading of the literature (and approval by my endocrinologist).
