Is your triglyceride level 135, based on VLDL * 5 where VLDL = TC - LDL - HDL = 27?

That is near the high end of "normal" (150 or higher tends to cause more concern).

Sugar intake tends to raise triglycerides more than other blood lipids.

With respect to high LDL, you may want to check your diet to try to eliminate trans-fats from hydrogenated oils, and cut back on saturated fats in favor of unsaturated fats. Chocolate may be high in saturated fat. Many processed snack foods, as well as margarine, contain hydrogenated oils.

Losing body [i]fat[/i] should help lower both LDL and triglycerides. (Note: weight gain from muscle growth due to exercise is healthy.)
