Like to hear the results-- I am also on TRICOR now, but a very low dose. I will try this combo for a while to see how I feel. I know that this does not cause leg pains. However, it is strange... ... I assume you mean guggul. Guggul and red yeast rice are two different things. If you try guggul, I'd suggest just taking the lowest dose listed on the bottle, and see how it goes. I can't say I'm a big fan of it though, as there basically has been little to no long term studies with guggul, and it can interact with lots of medications. Red yeast rice would be a better... ... Were you taking inositol hexaniconitate? This is the flushless form of niacin , there are forms that say they are slow release and or flushless but it must say inositol hexaniconitate on the label and it's supposed to be easy on the liver. (9 replies)

... Be careful,you may find the same leg discomfort.There are some red yeast rice that contains the same chemical that is found in the statins. (5 replies)

... Hi Mandie Just saw your note and wanted to let you know that I got into leg pain issues with Lipitor. Left leg, emanated from my buttocks. Had been taking it for nearly 2 years, 10 mg per day. Have pulled myself off and waiting for the pain to go away. Your statin has most likely caused your problem. Hang in there! (5 replies)
