High Triglycerides

... Based on my calculations, your LDL=31, HDL=20 and VLDL=78. Before the changes in my lifestyle and diet, I had a very similar problem to yours. Astronomical triglycerides, low LDL and low HDL. Glad that you want to make a change already; it took a heart attack at age 35 to get the point across to me (I am 5'10", was 227 lbs, I currently weigh 160 lbs as of this morning).... (3 replies)

... Have your Trigs been high all along? From what I understand, high Trigs and low HDL seem to go hand in hand, as my husband has the same problem. He is not a drinker, but has type 2 diabetes. Sugar is DEFINITELY a culprit in high Trigs., so go VERY easy on anything starchy, or sugary, as they will send your Trigs up. Stay away from processed foods, white potatoes and white rice... I was basically consuming beer like a hybrid Irishman/Viking and I got stuck on Tricor? My question is if a person abstains from drinking how soon do Triglycerides normalize? Very Low HDL

... Howdy brother - I am a 48 year old - 5'9" and weigh 225. Last Friday I had blood work done and my numbers had changed from previously - my LDL was 133 and my HDL was 16 with total cholesterol at 205 - just three months ago mu LDL was 95 my HDL 29 and total 158 so of course I am now concerned-- my parents don't have cholesterol troubles but both have high blood pressure...
