... Hello, I'd like to add to the "list." Watch the margarine, because some margarines contain trans. fats and some even have just as much total fat as butter. I look for lite and no-trans fats. For baking...I substitute olive oil for the butter/margarine in bread recipes....I have just started to substitute unsweetened apple sauce for margarine/butter in brownie, cake, and cookie...
