Chronic Fatigue Board Index

Hello, everybody!

I am a 27 year old male who is looking for some answers to his health problems.

I have so many symptoms that do not seem to be related in any meaningful/coherent way, but, to me, they all somehow seem interconnected. This perhaps may be a wrong forum to post on, but I am so desperate to get some answers. I know that people with CFS have many different symptoms and that doctors often don't take them seriously, which also happens to me. That's why I decided to try to ask for help here.

I was a perfectly healthy individual up until about 6 years ago. I slowly developed a condition known as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). My symptoms were mostly gastrointestinal in nature (for a few years).
Later on, I started developing other symptoms, which somehow I always attributed to IBS. Those included: fatigue, nervousness, depression, anxiety, etc. I could not differentiate whether all these symptoms were psychological or physical in nature.

In the past few years I also developed skin conditions known as seborrheic dermatitis and eczema. This kinda indicated to me that my immune system was out of whack.

Well, this year I developed some more bizarre symptoms. First of all, I started getting muscle twitches all over my body. They are persistent (they are worst after a long exercise). These fasciculations are extremely annoying.

My mental state became much worse too. My doctor diagnosed me with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and told me that my twitches are caused by stress/anxiety (very hard to believe, since I get them even when I sleep).

In addition to all this, I started getting muscle aches in my right arm and shoulder. It is not the kind of pain that hurts as when you fall down and hurt yourself, but it rather feels like a sort of migrating, dull, annoying numbness. As I said, it mostly affects my right arm and right shoulder, but also happens in other parts of the body. I also started getting the so-called "pins-and-needles" sensations all over my body (mostly in my feet, but also elsewhere).

I now often get tired after eating, especially bigger meals (this is in addition to my IBS problems after eating).

Last weekend something truly strange happened to me. I played soccer like I do every weekend (90 minutes of active playing). After the game, when I came home, I became very sick. I was throwing up for two days and I had mild temperature (37.5 degrees C). I recovered after a few days.
Another strange thing that is now happening to me is that every time I play soccer, the next day I get very bad muscle aches (similar to those "healthy" muscle aches after you play a sport). But, this used to happen to me only after a long period of inactivity, now every time that I play I get muscle aches.

So, there are my weird symptoms. I am looking for some insights. I often feel that my anxiety came as a result of all these physical problems, not as the cause of these problems as doctors tend to maintain. It is really hard to express how physically awful I feel sometimes...IBS, fatigue, muscle twitches, muscle aches...I still don't feel as if I couldn't run, for instance, I have that kind of energy (that's why I don't think I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), but I just don't feel healthy at all...

My doc. did some blood/urine tests on me, but everything came back just fine...But, why do I feel so bad so often, then?

Any suggestions, insights, recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Ontarian
