Hello there. Your doctor said you had a viral infection, yet gave you penicillin. That was mistake #1. You see, colds and flus are viruses. Viruses are smaller than bacteria. Penicillin is an antibiotic which means it only kills bacteria. Since you cannot kill viruses with an antibiotic, all the penicillin does is kill off all the bacteria in your intestines (good and bad). This isn't good cause good bacteria keeps the bad bacteria in check and prevents things like the bad bacteria from growing out of hand which can lead to Candida yeast infections or worse.

First thing you need to do is buy yourself some probiotics to put back all the good bacteria in your body. This will help restore your natural flora and help to a small extent to heal you.

Second, if you want to get rid of colds and flus you have to address the problem where it stems: a virus. Since there are no over the counter or prescription medications for viruses (aka why there is no cure for the common cold using conventional synthetic drugs), we have to look at an alternative source to fight the disease, since there are natural anti-viral treatments that exist, but it's only through nature do we find these things. I will give you a list of things that I have used that have helped me.

Way back in the 1930's a German researcher had come up with the theory that the cold and flu germ enters the ear canal rather than the nose and mouth like conventionally thought. He learned that disease cannot exist in an alkaline and oxygen-rich environment. People even with cancer have acidic bodies for example. Hydrogen Peroxide has a lot of oxygen in it so he proposed that hydrogen peroxide kills viruses, and therefore tried to administer hydrogen peroxide to patients (via ear canal by an eye dropper). It worked! Patients within 24 to 48 hours of feeling sick walked away cured! Of course this meant that many doctors would lose countless money on over the counter prescriptions that did nothing but mask the symptoms and did nothing to address the underlying cause of the problem. To counter, the medical field told the media that is was a hoax and dangerous to put hydrogen peroxide into the ear canal in fear that it could damage the brain (an impossibility). Nevertheless, as shown countless times through other avenues such as politics, the fear worked and people stopped doing it. Things went back to the way they were for decades until recently with the upsurging of organic foods, and natural homeopathic remedies, the treatment has resurfaced once again, producing the same very fast results. But, like anything else, the treatment will be more successful if caught in it's early stages rather than you already being sick for a while. Nevertheless, it still might be able to help you. I speak from personal experience as everytime I had started to feel like I was coming down with something, I did this method and felt better immediately. If you would like to know how to do this, follow these steps:

1. Go out and buy yourself a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. Next, go to any local pharmacy or drug store and ask if they sell glass eye droppers with the rubber tips on the end for squeezing. Take both things home. Lie down on one side of you...let's just say your left side. Open the bottle, and tip it slightly to one side and squeeze the eye dropper's rubber end to suck up a full vial of hydrogen peroxide. Then stick the eye dropper as far down into the ear canal as you can without actually making contact with the end of the eye dropper. Drop about 4 to 5 drops. It will sizzle, and bubble. This is natural as it is killing germs in your ear. Wait about 10 to 15 minutes...or whenever the bubbling completely stops. Then sit up and cock your head to one side and drain the hydrogen peroxide from your ear. Then lay down on the opposite side and repeat the procedure. Do this every 5 hours.

Other optionss you can try that are anti-viral are:

1. Buy plenty of garlic, onions, and radishes. Organic preferrably cause they are more stronger but regular will do if you cannot obtain organic. Get a razor. Mince up the two cloves of garlic into small pieces. Then swallow it with a tablespoon after a meal. Do this three times a day. You want to chop up the onions and radishes and put them into your salads which you should be eating often. Garlic, onions, and radishes are all anti-viral, antibacterial, and anti-microbial dietary sources of food. For some reason natural antibacterial foods don't destroy the good bacteria in your body like synthetic antibiotics do.

2. More anti-viral sources are 100% organic raw honey, organic raw apple-cider vinegar, organic extra-virgin olive oil, ginger root, liquid echinacea, and organic extra virgin coconut oil, white tea, and green tea. Make sure they are all extra-virgin (except the teas cause they don't make virgin or extra virgin teas). The regular stuff is refined and does not have the same effect and probably won't work. Take a teaspoon of honey everytime you have tea. A teaspoon of the apple-cider vinegar after every meal. Top off your salads with the olive oil. Take about a tablespoon of the coconut oil twice a in the morning before a meal, and one later in the day before another meal. Cut a little of the ginger root and stick into your teas. Liquid echinacea works better than tablets cause liquid moves faster and is more easily absorbed by the blood stream.

3. Eat chicken soup made from homemade organic chicken. If you can't find organic chicken, get natural chicken which is second long as it says "no antibiotics, growth hormones, pesticides, or chemicals" on it. In the chicken soup you want to put plenty of onions, carrots, radishes, parsley, and a little black pepper. Chicken soup helps sooth your throat and thins out mucous. It also helps boost the immune system alongside everything else I have mentioned so far.

4. Eat plenty of organic dark leafy green vegetables (aka kale, spinach, collard greens, swiss chard, bok choy, etc.) alongside regular green veges like broccoli, grean beans, and snow peas.

5. Stay away from sugar, dairy, and grains!! Just a teaspoon of sugar can knock your immune system down for up to 6 hours. Sugar is your enemy when trying to stay away from sugar. Dairy thickens your mucous and also contains sugar. It helps congest you further so stay away from milk, ice cream, yogurt, etc when sick. Grains are contrary to conventional belief, treated as simple carbs when they get into the body...they are converted to sugars which will kick your insulin levels up which is responsible for sugar synthesis. So stay away from sugar, dairy, and grains. If you have to eat a grain which is the safest of the three, pick 100% stone ground whole grain bread or short grain brown rice (the long cooking kind...not the 10 minute instant kind). And only use it sparingly.

6. Get yourself a humidifier and have it constantly going in any room you are sitting in or sleeping in. Dry nasal and throat passages are breeding ground for viruses and even bad bacteria.

7. Wash your hands before eating and after shaking anyones hand. Don't touch your face if you don't have to.

8. Get at least 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep preferrably at the same time every night so your body clock gets accustomed to a schedule.

9. Think positive and laugh often. Rent out a comedy movie, watch stand up on tv, and read a lot of clean jokes. Humor and positiveness helps boost the immune system along with convincing and believing you will get better.

10. If you believe in God, praying doesn't hurt :)

11. Don't drink orange juice or any fruit juice by that matter. Fruit juice is loaded with sugar (even the 100 percent natural ones) and that can impede your immune system. If you want vitamin C, eat the actual fruit. The fiber in it regulates the sugar and your insulin levels will be more consistent cause it is being intaked into your body at a much slower pace.

12. Drink plenty of fresh spring water from clear plastic bottles or glass being the best.(Poland Spring or Iceland Spring water is the best) At least 8 glasses a day is recommended to keep you hydrated.

13. Stop smoking and drinking cause either or kills your immune system.

14. Stay warm and take it easy.

Hope this all helps and let me know if you need anything more. I will help to the best of my ability. Remember all this advice is what I have learned and what I have tried out on myself. It may or may not work for you but you never know unless you try.
