Cancer: Colon Board Index

I'm 21 years old and I have a colonoscopy friday, I went to the GI about a week ago because I've been having many problems. About 6 months ago I had blood on the tissue paper, went to the doctor, the doctor said it was an internal hemroid. About 2 months ago I got shooting fleeting pains in my rectum for a few days that came in episodes, it went away for a week, came back the next week for 2 days and has been gone since. Seemed to always hit me at night or in morning, they would come in episodes and last for an hour or more. Felt like someone was stabbing me in the *** every few seconds and made me want to like jump up. I looked it up on the internet and it sounded just like proctalgia fugax.

Well about a few weeks later (A Month to a month and half ago) New symptoms started, I was getting pretty chronic diarhea then it would alternate to constipation. Unfortuantly I had a vacation planned for a few weeks so I didnt go to the doctor right away. I had sudden urgencies and made me have to run to the bathroom when I had diarhea but it seemed like certain foods would do it so I thought it was IBS at first, during this time I had lots of gas and my stomach was always running circles at night and making noises. Now what has changed me to thinking it was IBS or something minor is that I have had what looked like streaks of red from time to time, but what is scaring me the most is since last week(day after I went to the GI) I have been having thin ribbon like(about 1/2 - 3/4 in) thick stools that are flat on both sides. These stools have only been happening for a week now but its scaring the living **** out of me, I'm only 21 years old and GI didn't seem to think it was colon cancer because of my age, but I know it is possible and I have pretty much every symptom of it so im scared  . She said it might be Chrohns or Ulcerative Colitis(but she didnt know about the thin stools and thats not a symptom of colitis from what i understand? I just want to know what everyone else thinks, the people on this boards that were diagnosed with colon cancer did you have similiar experiences?

I also have about 5-10 bowel movements a day lately.

If I have all these symptoms does this mean the cancer is "more than likely" in a later stage?

What stage do symptoms arrive?

I'm scaring myself for friday and I havn't even found out the results yet. Thanks for listening everyone.

Hi
The worst part is the junk you drink beforehand and the jellow and broth that you eat.
The proceedure is a piece of cake.
They put me out for it and when I woke up i went home.
It is worth it, I had cancer on my tumor and now comes the hard part.
If problems caught early you are a winner.
Is this a sharp stinging pain that lasts for about 1 or 2 seconds?
Yes, not so much stinging more like a sharp stabbing pain that lasts for about 1-2 seconds then comes back every few seconds and would hit me in episodes of about an hour-2hours.....then just disappear.

I went to the GI to talk about celiac disease, I guess my test came back "inconclusive" and hes not convinced its celiac disease, he said everyone hes tested(went down through the throat to check) so far that was inconclusive has came back negative. I'm still not satisifed that nothing is wrong with me but ovbiously it has nothing to do with my colon, my bowel problems have gotten better but I still get abdominal pain now and then.

I got a sharp pain on my right side under my bottom rib that lasted a few seconds, it was while I was lifting something thats probably about 40 lbs.
