... inflammation...no big deal. They called today to say that my blood cultures were positive so I am going on a 10 day cycle of Levaquin. I am glad I went and got it taken out when I did!! My port was put in Aug 18, 2005. Thankfully it lasted through chemo and TPN! ... (14 replies)

... This is VERY serious and depends on HOW infected it looks to them. Many times they will put you on a strong antibiotic, especially since some of the irritation COULD be due to it being accessed for so long while you were in the hospital, etc. ... (14 replies)

... Hope you have met doctor and got a plan to fix it up. Since you just had surgery and must be pumped in with lots of anti-biotics during and after surgery, it is less likely that it is infected. But I will just say, see you doctor rihgt away, which as per your post might have done it already. Hope your doctor already has a plan to fix it up by now. (14 replies)
