Hello. I would be interested in any experiences with Drs. Philip Miller or Norman Godfrey.

I am interested in a primary rhinoplasty, partly to correct a dorsal defect from injury, and partly for cosmetic reasons (narrowing the nostrils and tip refinement).

I have already had my consultation with Dr. Miller - I liked his manner and he seemed to understand what I would like.

Thanks!
Good gracious!

For the longest time, I've been browsing each single on line forum/chat/message board to try to find info. on Dr. Philip Miller. You're the first person to mention his name.

I need a revision rhino. I've searched the internet day and night looking for the right surgeon (After the 1st. failed surgery, I don't want to take any unnecessary risks).

I went to Dr. Philip Miller's web page. I've read/seen all the articles/shows where he appears. He seems to be very popular in the media. But, is he as good as the media has portrayed him to be? That's what I want to know.

Anyway, I have an appointment with him in 2 weeks. I would love to hear from someone who actually knows something beyond what appears on his website (Actual cases).

After your consultation with him and other doctors, have you made a decision?

Thanks for all your input.
Hey, I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Norman Godfrey. I am happy with my result. He operates out of hospitals only - I had mine done where he is the head of plastic surgery - NY Hospital in Queens. Have you met with him yet?
I have just heard about Dr. Miller recently. I would love to know more about his work as well, mostly revision rhinoplasty. When you guys go to your consultation, please post your feelings about him and whether you feel that he is all that he is cracked up to be. Thanks.
Hello. I had my consult with Dr. Godfrey. He was very thorough. He also expressed strong views about what ought to be done. I'm deciding between Miller and Godfrey, and leaning towards Miller right now. I just got a better vibe from him.
I am in my second week of recovery from a Rhinoplasty given by Dr. Philip Miller. It was truly a wonderful experience over all. He makes you feel SO comfortable and he tells you what will look nice while keeping it an open forum for any questions you might have. The day of surgery, I thought I would be freaking out but every single person that works in his swanky new office is so nice and they made me calm in no time. I had a whole bunch of work done on my nose including a turbinoplasty, septoplasty, and general rhinoplasty. Nose is looking good and is pretty much exactly as it appeared in the after pictures he did on the computer. I still have swelling in the tip of my nose which should go down in the coming weeks. I HIGHLY recommend Miller.
For those of you who wanted to know about my consult. with Dr. Philip Miller (NY):

The consultation itself was very patient oriented. Dr. Miller listened to
me. He was VERY interested in what I had to say. My desires and dreams
about what I want my nose to look like. Also, my fears and my concerns.
He wrote it all down. I was candid as candid can be. I mean, I looked him
in the eye, and told him that If he didn't think he could give me the nose
I wanted to tell me. Also, I said that If I didn't think he was the right
person for the surgery or anyone else, that I would live with my nose the
way it is. He reacted well to all my comments, as he should have.

I found him to be competent, caring and a good listener. I might go with him. I'm pretty sure I will.
How much is a consultation with Dr. Philip Miller? Also did you see any before/after pictures dealing with revision rhinoplasty and if so, were they natural looking?

The consultation was $250 (I know, very expensive). The $250 includes 2 consultations (Initial and follow-up). Just from experience I tell you that talking to a surgeon once is not enough, so a 2nd and even 3rd consultation is a very good idea.

Yes, I saw before and after pics. of revision rhinoplasties. He didn't have a lot, but enough for me to form an idea. All his noses, primary and revision, looked very natural to me, which I love.

I'm so nervous about making this decision! I wish it were easier.
How did you find out about Dr. Miller? Also you posted that when you had your consultation, you said that if he wasn't the right person for the job, you would just leave your nose alone, what was his comments to that, was he encouraging to go ahead with the procedure? I said this exact same thing to a doctor during a consultation and he said that it would be unfair to myself not to fix it. I was just wondering if Dr. Miller said similar things to what my doctor said.

Answer:

He didn't reply anything right away. After he listened to what I had to say, he said he could do what I wanted done. (I need to have a moderate saddle repaired as well as the removal of a bump, which I have left only because my stupid 1st. surgeon took a little too much from the bridge, hence the saddle).

I found out about him from his website (****** search), which to me doesn't mean much. God knows a good website doesn't mean a good surgeon. I have heard also that he has a good reputation from a few people from another board. I have heard from 2 patients of him who seem to be happy with his results. Also, I checked, and there are no official complaints about him. Also, I like how natural his before and after pics are. The pictures of noses that he has on his website look before on his album.

Also, When I had my consul. I saw a girl who had had primary rhino. with him 5 days before and who was having her cast removed the day I was there. She had the most amazing result I've ever seen. However, a nose can look great right away and then fall apart like happened to me.

By the way, when he was talking about the risks of my rhinoplasty, he did say that he would never do what my 1st. rhino did to me or even close to it. He said that if something didn't go as perfectly as I wanted, it would only require a minor revision.

Needles to say this is not what I want to hear, but I know that it is the reality of rhinoplasty. He was honest. He was factual. He was also positive he could help me.

I have the 2nd. part of my consul. this Monday.

Have you schedule a cosultation with him or anyone else?

Tell me, about to hear from you too!

I posted this again because I made a couple of mistakes on my original one!

I have not made a consultation appointment with Dr. Miller yet, but from what I'm hearing about him, I would really like to make one soon. I have been to numerous other consultations with other doctors, such as Dr. Tobias, Dr. Barek and Dr. Jetter, but I have yet to find a doctor that I feel completely comfortable with and that I agree with the procedures they want to perform. So, as of right now I'm still searching for the right doctor for the job.
Hm74,

So that you know, I'm also considering Dr. Davis of Miami. I might fly to Miami to have a consultation with him. I cannot believe I'm saying that! I thought I could find the right surgeon for me here (NY area). I refused to seriously consider a surgeon out of state. However, what's better? To be inconvenienced? Or to know in my gut that I'm going with a surgeon who can correct my nose?
hey, i'm also considering Dr. Miller for my rhinoplasty so i would love to hear more about the second part of your consultation.
questions-- how long do you have to wait to schedule a consultation for him, do they usually have one available in like a couple of weeks or a in the area of a couple of months??
Also, what is the price range by him?
Thanx:)

It took me only a couple of weeks to schedule mine. The quote for my revision was around $10,000.

I had my 2nd. consultation with him already. He was vey nice and seemed sure he could help me.

I might go with another surgeon I've been considering. I just feel more comfortable with this other surgeon. Nothing against Dr. Miller though.
Hi, I've had my 2nd consultation with Dr. Godfrey and feel very comfortable with him - just feel a bit unsure about the frontal view of my picture. Was wondering if anyone had any comments about experiences with his work?
Had my nose done by Dr. Norman Godfrey and the result is amazing. He is a Great doctor and really cares about his patients. His office is well run and private.

Hey, I'm considering doing a rhino with Norman Godfrey and was wondering if you'd be able to email me or private message me with your experience? How did you like him?
