Cosmetic / Plastic Surgery Board Index

I'm just enjoying the first month of a completley perfect nose and I would be happy to answer those questions. I heard some people were bashing my surgeon on the web (trying to blackmail him to give them money for props on their rhino boards didn't work)and I love him so much I'm ready to bring in the sunrise writing about my experience!!
* the cost varies. Generally, 75 percent of rhino's get redone because a nose job is the toughest procedure and so many get screwed up. 3000 will get you a messed up nose or not much change. How bad is messed up? use you're imagination. Times it by 20. Don't get one for 3000. You'll just need a revision, which can cost twice as much as a first time depending on the doctor. My rhinoplasty cost me 8000 but no tax on surgery, plus 45 in meds, plus a hotel room for one night near the surgery facilty in case of an emergency. My doctor is Richard Ellenbogen. He is a genius. I will tell you more if you reply and say you want to know more.
*Credit cards are accepted as a general rule. This is nothing special, if a sugeon uses the old "I accept credit cards " as a sales tactic, be warned. Its a given. Some doctors cooperate with credit companies that will give you a loan for the surgery. Some plastic surgery loan companies are independant and will loan to you as well. You can use more than one form of payment at one time. Someone else can pay for you. Checks okay 2 of course. No one will do your nose before you pay the full amount. Bummer, I know. You want this now, I know I did!!
*Best Doctors: California's Dr. Richard Ellenbogen
Can't really reccomend any other since I've only seen bad before and afters from the other doctors I saw.
Oh, Dr. Toriumi in Chicago and Eugene Tardy, in chicago, Check for REVISION RHINOPLASTC SURGEONS because they are the guys redoing what the crummy doctors did, and its a challange to find a good revisionist. If they can do revisions and are good, the first time nose is not a challange to them. Also, go to Dr. Ellenbogen's site and see what elite boards he belongs to then use that as a sort of directory. Before and afters speak volumes. Never allow a surgeon to BS his way around a photo album .
*Time off: For me, one week with a splint amd gause, three weeks with a little black under my eyes, two months the nose looked a little bigger than it would permanently be, and 4 months later I am sitting prettier than I ever imagined was possible. It varies though with each person and each surgen. Experience is so valuable in a surgeon. You dont wanna be the first, no matter what his apprenticeship.
* I took one week off school, and I was very very careful for the first month. Walk slow, watch out for glass doors and odd sexual positions.
*Revisions cost more as a general rule, but I'm not sure if Dr. Ellenbogen charges more or not. Dr. Toriumi's revisions can run over 15000 his receptionist told me. Some doctors do charge for more difficult work but thats shady of them ; they should not be perceiving the nostrils as a tough spot or a large bump too big to remove for a normal fee ect. They should be experienced and if they start telling you they'll "try" say you'll think about it and don't sign anything.
* Can you get your Dream Nose? The better the sugeon, the better the nose. It should go something like this.. he tells you what he thinks would improve your face, his ideal for you. You give him your vision. You discuss it and you decide with him excactly what he will do. If you are satisfied and confident in him you proceed. Computer imaging is sooo crappy and two dimensional. I tried it but it just looked off because they couldn't change the whole nose, just the angles of the profile. Things like skin thicknes and skin texture will remain the same unless the skin is loose and wobbly on a smooshy nose, then it will be tighter and better looking. Nostril size ans shape CAN be changed, basically everything can be changed, but the harmony of you features is of formost importance. If you were Owen Wilson you probably couldn't get Dr. Ellenbogen to make your nose look like Tiffany Amber Theissen because that would look weird. Good luck to you, feel free to repond with more questions, and if its of any encouragement to you, I did get my dream nose. PS once you are no longer worrying about your nose, you notice how many others have big noses. I was like "hey, I wasn't alone, I just felt that way!"
