... Hi everyone, Update on Nikkie-the dr said her lungs sounded clear :D , but he sent her for a sinus scan because he thinks she's getting some sinus problems-she has some polyps. He gave us a script for codeine(very hesitantly), but he said NOT to use it unless the cough is constantly keeping her up at night (he emphasized that about5 times :) ...sometimes when kids w/ CF... ... Hi everyone, I'm really freaking out. My daughter has CF and has been coughing nonstop today since our morning cpt. She has no fever (I checked four times!!) and she says she has no headache, sore throat or earache. But that cough! :eek: She's not really bringing up a lot of mucus & I dont really hear any crackling or wheezes, but should I call the dr??? TIA! (3 replies)

... By all means, have the sweat test and if you have any results near 4Oyou should send his blood to AMBRY to the genetic test. (my daughters were both borderline results - one was 40 and 43; the other was 52 and 55) Rectal prolapse is frequently seen in CF patients and your doctor made a great call. ... This usually only happens twice a year now...for about 5 days at a time. From these two diagnosis my doctor wants him to have a sweat test. He doesn't have a persistant cough. He's usually in the 90th percentile for growth in his age group, so he doesn't have a "failing to thrive issue" Do you think the test should be done. ... (4 replies)

... had some GI issues and couldn't tolerate heat at all. I would get overheated and dehydrated really easy. We had a trampoline and when I would jump one it I would cough and choke and bring up mucus...little did I know that this is a reccomended form of physio for CF kids! ... (12 replies)
