singer..
its very simple..just eat like the pyramide..i recomend to change your grains..white bread or, brown bread..makes not diference..they are both very bad for you..try to eat as natural as possible..select better breads, at first you will find them strange tasting but, you will adjust very quickly and, you will never go back..

this is what i recommend..

grains>> corn, rice, potato, spelt
fruits & veggies
dairy
good quality lean meats..forget cold cuts..
dried fruits
nuts
raisins
penut butter
eggs
good milk
100% pur juices
tuna
sardines
good rice( not the quick prepared rice)
olives
rice or arrowroot cookies soy cookies.. ;)
rice cakes
etc..

you gotta eat real food.. :)

better breads..like soy bread(since your a soy freak)
rice bread
corn bread(this is proly the best bread for your health)
potato bread
spelt bread

i remember when i was a little kid i use to put up wallpaper with my dad and, use wheat flour mixed with water to stick it up..How good can that be for your health..?? if you try making glue with any other type of flour it will never work.. also sientist have tried feeding wheat flour to rats for like 30 days..and, the rats died..goes to show you..

try searching

gluten & rats

im not joking..i just want you and, y'all to be more healthy..it will pay of in the long run..

also jess my stools never smell..means im eating 100% natural.. ;) (sry for the graphic)
well i haven't tried soy bread..but, the breads i eat are corn, or rice..they are very filling..i mostly hav it for lunch..sandwiches..i try to avoid bread at supper.. :).. but seriously do try to eat less wheat..just try to select better breads..and, rotate..with diferent breads and, wheat bread.. just wheat bread is no good at all for overall health..people are overdosing with this.. we all know what overdosing brings... :)

Where do you get rice bread at? I never heard of it.
Hi all:
Just thought I would add my two cents to this discussion about how horrible gluten is (I've been hanging on another message board section about diabetes but this one looks great too). To add one more piece of information, in my opinion there is a very clear connection between gluten and type 1 diabetes. My little boy was recently diagnosed with type 1 a few weeks ago (he is only 15 months old). At first we were suspicious of milk protein as we introduced him to cow's millk a couple weeks before the diagnosis.

We went and saw a natural medicine doctor last week and a lot of pieces feel into place. We learned that the little boy (and his mother as it turns out) suffers from Celiac (and clearly his grandfather [mother's father] does as well). Our boy has had a TON of allergies and his pediatrician has been TOTALLY useless in this regard when we have been concerned about his allergies and his loose stomach over the past 8 months. In fact, we were the ones who diagnosed his diabetes, not them [they finally relented and gave us a confirming blood test when his mother insisted].

Got him on bifido and Omega 3 and his stomach is much better. While we are still not big fans of cow's milk, and never will be, it is a lot clearer to us how a leaky gut could allow all sorts of undigested proteins into the bloodstream and set the body's immune system into an uproar.

It's too bad that it took nonreversible diabetes to kick in for his parents (me) to do the research on this. And it is pretty much impossible to reverse the condition once his pancreas has become so deteriorated so while we look into alternative remedies, we are increasingly pessimitically realistic about it.

It is just a damn shame to know that so many other people, including a lot of little kids, are going to get ill due to the lack of awareness on the toxicity of gluten. My prediction is that gluten is one of the top "environmental" triggers for Type 1 diabetes in those who are already suspectible.

If anyone has any words of wisdom to share about dealing with newly diagnosed Type 1 diabetes who are little kids (darn Cheerios are no good to use either) with tons of allergies (egg, soy, milk, gluten and nuts), I'm all ears and certainly very appreciative!

Thanks and have a great weekend. - A
