Hummus is a VERY tasty way to get a good source of fiber. It is one of the highest foods with fiber in it (like the lentils). If you search for high fiber foods this will probably come up (as chick peas or garbonzo beans) and you can eat it as a snack or have it with your meal. I started eating it when I met my husband who is middleeastern and he took me to this local greek and middleeastern restraunt that made it really well. It is made from Chic peas (also known a garbanzo beans) and is basically that pureed up into a dip which I usually dip pita bread and scoop it up, but I guess you could use it as a chip dip too. Its mostly flavored with things like garlic, salt, tahini, lemon juice. Im sure at least one grocery store would carry it if they had a natural foods section and its favored a lot by vegans and vegetarians. Give it a try!
