Digestive Disorders Board Index

I was just discharged from the hospital after a three night/four day stay on Friday. I had gone to my PCP because of severe abdominal pain in the upper right quadrant of my abdomen, I'd also been having diarrhea, and then constipation, and then diarrhea again. I was extremely nauseous. He sent me straight to the hospital from his office, and I was admitted. They gave me fluids, which I was in dire need of, pain medicine, and nausea medicine. They did blood work, a CT scan with contrast, and an upper endoscopy. They wanted me to do some kind of small bowel study where you drink contrast and they follow it through your digestive system, but I couldn't keep the contrast down. As of now, I am hearing that it's a bile duct spasm. I should mention that I had my gallbladder removed almost three years ago and my appendix removed nine months after the gallbladder. Ever since I had my appendix removed, I have felt terrific. This came on pretty quickly. I am 24 years old. Also, my gallbladder did not have stones, but just stopped functioning.

I have fibromyalgia, and I've been having a lot of problems with lower back pain. I have also had a diagnostic laparoscopy to see if I had endometriosis, which I do not. I don't know what to think anymore. They put me on Zofran and Bentyl. The pain is definitely not as bad, but it is still there. The nausea is definitely still bad. Every time I go to the bathroom, it is diarrhea, but there just isn't too much in me. I've lost almost 20 pounds in the last week and a half.

I feel like I am never going to feel good again. What could this be??? Please, please, help me.
