... I've had two and don't remember a thing when the first one was performed. I was lucid enough to know what was going on during the 2nd. I gagged just a little but the meds kept me calm enough to prevent me from panicking. I believe how much you are awake depends on your doctor, the meds used and how your body reacts to the meds. ... Because of the valium + versad I'm given, it seems like I sleep right through, since I don't remember a thing anyway. I guess it's called conscious sedation since I'm supposedly awake. One minute I'm talking to the doctor, the next I'm aware of the recovery area and a nurse telling me I can get dressed. The doctor can monitor your anxiety level and adjust the sedative... ... ove, this is the normal procedure. If there is no improvement after a few weeks then he would probably send you for an Endoscopy, this is what happened to me. An Endoscopy is nothing to fear, I have had three and I cant even swallow a pill and had no trouble. ... (3 replies)

My worst fear (well not the worst) is that if I have crampy pains the next day I might vomit, which will lead to fatigue and ugly red blotches on my face I'm going to see if I can reschedule one or the other, or find a back-up sub.
