... They offer it to everyone. Actually, some doctors are quite pushy about it, but they will give you accurate information about the test. I dont know what the standard is, but I didnt take mine until 17 weeks or so. It was my 3rd appointment. And i think they dont do the amnio first because its intrusive and more painful. ... When pregnant with my first child, the ultrasound showed 2 choroid plexus cysts, too much amniotic fluid, a 2 vessel (should be 3) vessel umbilical cord, and that the baby had cleft lip/palate.
