... I get these every so often too and it's ALWAYS when I yawn. A hard lump forms just under my chin and is quite painful. If I release my jaw slowly from yawning, it seems to help a bit and then I massage the spot that tensed up. ... (24 replies)
... e opening my mouth that big to chew hurt the first few days but it helps...constantly salivating, and swallowing helps with the throat..and the chewing helps the jaw feel better after being open during surgery...also keep the tongue moist and even brush it with a toothbrush and paste...spit gently..but this helps too. ...
