... Hi Shlouie You should not be more than a hop skip and a jump away from a hospital for the next 2 or 3 weeks post op bleeds are relatively common. Be safe stay at home a post op bleed is very scary take it from as I am a nurse and have seen it happen. Linda PS I am having mine out on the 17th August and am truely scared. (16 replies)

... Try Cepacol lozenges for sore throat w/pain numbing relief. I sucked on them for days and nights. They helped along with my Vicodin. without the Cepacol the pain was unbearable. I slept with about 3 pillows so that I was almost sitting up in bed. I also would take the pain medicine every 3.5 hours instead of 4 even if I didn't have pain at the time. I went off the pain... ... What helped me get others to understand was printing out the LisaMP post and a few of the bleeding horror stories, for their enrichment. In addition keep a small flash light handy and make whoever is about look in and check for bleeding. Remind them that your throat has been completely violated, now swallowing for any reason hurts.
