I'm a lifelong recovering bulimic. I have periods of relapse and periods of remission. My teeth have taken the brunt of the beating, for sure. I've had a lot of root canals and endodontics.

Long story short, I would like to do something to improve my smile. I had them laser whitened a few times and that was fine for awhile. But my gums got very sensitive and sore after the bleachings, as well as the home bleaching trays they gave me.

I've been considering porcelain veneers (10 on top, 8 on bottom) but it's a huge investment and if my health isn't stable I don't want it to be another temporary solution. I also hear that you have to replace veneers every 10-20 years. I'm sure it would be a lot quicker than that if I purged once a month, even.

I don't know what bonding is, or if that would be a viable solution. Or if there's something I haven't heard about yet that would be appropriate. My teeth are dull and brown and I'm very self-conscious.

Thanks for any ideas anyone might have.

Moderator- Please feel free to move this to the Dental section, if it would be more appropriate there.
