... My girlfriend has anorexia, although (as she said herself) she finds herself more as a person with anorexic tendencies. She eats "healthy and well" when she is around me, so things start going rather bad when we are apart, which is a problem since we live in different states. ... It's good that you are showing concern for your girlfriend, But you have to understand that eating disorders can happen to anyone. Its has nothing to do with how sensible she is. It sounds like she is doing the right thing with seeing a doctor. All you can do is be supportive, and be there for her. (1 replies)

... Please speak for yourself, only, and not in generalized terms. I abhor the notion that people perceive this VERY BONA-FIDE disease, as "selfish." Would you look at someone suffering from metastatic cancer, as "selfish?" :confused: I mean no offense, but to me, that is a reckless oversimplification of a veritable affliction.
