... Hi, I just wanted to say that I took epilim (3000mg/day) with my son as well as lamictal and klonopin. I took 10mg folic acid the whole time and he turned out fine. I do want to say that since I started taking epilim, it reallly messed my body up. My periods stopped and I got PCOS. I wasn't ovulating and my periods were so messed up. ... hi im having problems with my doctors my doctor does not agree with the doctor i saw at the nuro department who is not a nurologist but a dr with an interest in epilepsy who wrote to my dr giving instructions to him on how he should change my tables over from lamotrogine to epilim he told my doctor to reduce my 500mg of lamotrogine which i am on now by 50mg every 2 weeks till... My son was diagnosed with childhood epilepsy in March and was put on tegretol....He was fine until mid June when he had a tonic/clonic seizure after he became unwell and had a high temperature...Our Dr told us this was a break through seizure and he increased his dosage. ... g some of the messages and i noticed that not many people are on epilim is this because its a old drug and there are better and newer drugs out there i could try epilim does control them but if theres other drugs out their with less side affects i would try them. ... (2 replies)

... Epilim is a well established and very effective drug. I took it for centuries until I had to come off for reasons that had nothing to do with the drug. Dosage matters, of course, and you might notice some behavioural change - perhaps a bit more passive.
