... I have been on Tegretol Retard 200mg twice a day for around 10 years now for petit mal seizures. Over the past 18 months, I have developed a fine hand tremour which appears to be getting worse. ... (9 replies)
... was quite blaze about the entire thing, and didn't give me much faith in her diagnosis. I feel this is a specialist area, and would much rather put up with the hand tremours until some further tests have been run, rather than take more medication that may or may not help. She prescribed 80mg once daily. ... (9 replies)

Do you have tremor in your family?does alchohol subside it? They should definately do more testing though. What mg and how often do you take the propranolol? And how is that working?... (9 replies)
... Yep, propranolol is a beta blocker (sorry I missed that line in your post- just got new stash of reading glasses)...and good for essential tremors- might not work overnight, but my aunt uses it, and it works pretty well for her- not 100 % gone, but greatly improved..... (9 replies)
... Thanks to everyone for your comments. I've made another appointment with GP and hope to get referred to Epilepsy Specialist soon. (9 replies)
... Could also be an essential tremor totally unrelated to seizures or meds....recommend a doc check things out....there are meds for essential tremors that do not have a lot of nasty side effects (aunt takes them, and she's out dancing in ballroom classes all the time).... not always related to meds or seizures.
