Some of the protein bars (Designer, MetRX, EAS, etc) might be a better choice, but they tend to be quite expensive and some taste downright nasty. If you have whey protein try this little trick to satisfy snacky cravings:
1/2 package of instant sugar free, fat free pudding (whatever flavor you like)
make it with 3/4 c. water instead of milk and add 1/2 or a full scoop of protein powder. It takes about 5-10 minutes to set in the refrigerator and is a fairly low cal, high protein, almost-too-good-to-be-healthy snack. It's not a bar, but it's semi-solid and works great for me - guilt free.
Thanks! I'll give that a try, next time I go shopping I'll get the powdered kind cause I already get the fat free pudding already made(sugar free). Lately I've been drinking Kashi shakes(not everyday) which contain soy protein in them. I like it because it's already made, has 15 grams of protein, contains many vitamins, it's all natural, high in fiber and tastes good. I hate having to make my shakes but I guess I'll have to start again. I usually buy that spiru-tein(sp?) but Whole Foods don't carry it anymore. I hate ordering online unless it's a video, I guess because I don't know the validity of some of these websites. What do you think about spiru-tein? Naxis if I recall, you said there is too much sugar it. What kind do you use, if you don't mind me asking? :D Do any of you have any suggestions on a reputable brand for whey protein. Where do you guys purchase your shakes/powder? GNC? Thanks guys for your help! And yes, Naxis, those bars you mentioned do taste nasty, so I think I'm going to eat those balance bars on occasion. Thanks!!!
