I've been using my elliptical every morning for 1 hour and have seen my both my thighs and butt shrink as well as my waist, and my legs have gotten firmer. I get more compliments on how I look in jeans that I ever did before (too bad it's from women I have no interest in). I would strongly recommend the elliptical if you're trying to slim down and firm up. I used to run on a treadmill and this is a much more effective form of cardio. No shin splints, no knee problems, you can even go in reverse or squat to target different parts of your legs. If you're worried about getting really thick legs, I would say don't worry.
