Hey look at it like this. People make gaining and loseing out to be magic. It is not magic and to be technical it doesn't even matter what you eat. If you burn more calories throughout the day then you take in, you will lose weight. Gaining weight is exactly the opposite. Food selection comes into play when you are looking at nutrition aspects and what kind of weight you are trying to gain. If your lifting weights, you need to be supplying your body with high quality protein every 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours. You need to plan meals accordingly. Personally, I am 6'2 185, I eat between 7-9 times a day and consume well over 300 grams of protein. I have been doing this for nearly a year and half and have gained 10 pounds of muscle and have dropped my body fat by nearly 4%. I was lean to begin with. It is impossible to cosume too much protein. Muscle is protein so if you are trying to build pure muscle you will want to take lots of protein while maintaining a calorie range that keeps you from putting on fat.
