I am currently losing weight and going to the gym. So far I have lost 36 lbs but have a long way to go. I have started to do some weights as want to start to tone up my upper arms and legs etc. I have been doing the 'sorry I am fairly new to this so don't know names' weights where you sit down and pull the like the handle bar down. What is the best equiptment to use to start to tone your upper arms? Does it take long to start noticing results. Obvioulsy not trying to become body builder but want to start to tone up. I also like using the cross trainer and I have been told that it is good for toning your legs as well. What does it do if you go backwards for short periods the gym instructors are not too helpful at the gym. And of course I am using leg press and have now gotten to 100 weight on that which is pretty heavy for me but ok, and the goal for guys this month is to do 70 so I am doing pretty good with it. One last thing is one day off a week enough for you start to build muscle? I was advised that if you are doing weights you need a rest day for them to grow. If anyone can help with my questions that would be great.
