... I can relate to the "crackling" knee....when I walk up stairs it sounds like bags rustling,knee swells if I am on it for too long or walking to much, running is outta the question. I too have been around the block with drs, specialists, mri, etc and the concensus is that it is the beginning of arthritis, I should be doing certain leg exercises with weights, not soo much... ... How old are you? I had a osgood schlatter removed] and it was a similiar problem to what you are describing. Its not really a big deal, but it can be annoying. Swimming is a pretty good exercise with it to keep your legs in shape. (and it can persist for a long time mine lasted for a couple of years before I could even squat again lol). (9 replies)
