Eye & Vision Board Index

Well, to make a long story short, I'm a 21 year old female with horrible vision. I'm extremely near sighted, and I've been wearing glasses since I was 15. Lately, I'd say in the past year and a half I've noticed my vision getting worse and it's scaring me; I have a lot of things going on, and yes, I AM going to the doctor on Sunday, but I'm losing sleep at night for fear of the unknown. Here are some things I am experiencing:

Double Vision/Ghosting: When I read text or see images, I see them overlap each other. It can be a real pain in the neck when I'm trying to read

Floaters: I've had them all my life. I see two dark ones in my left eye, but when I am outdoors I feel like I see a lot more and it really scares me. Also I see little black dots especially when it's bright outside, and clear bubbles.

Itchy, Watery, Stinging: My eyes are very veiny, and feel dry but will water. They itch and I am constantly rubbing them. Sometimes they sting a lot too, and sometimes I get sharp pains, other times dull pains.

Mucus: Sometimes my vision will go blurry, especially when I am just waking up and I notice a gel like mucus in my eye and on the corner outside. It goes away when I blink or rub them, sometimes it comes back when I rub them. It also feels like something is stuck in my eye at times.

Colors/Shadows: I don't see flashes per say, but I will see colored spots randomly especially in bright rooms or staring at something for too long. Shadows too.

Light Sensitivity: I always thought this was because I have very blue eyes, which I heard are more sensitive to light, but I literally cannot be in a room that is too lit, I'm uncomfortable and see better in dimly lit rooms. Bright lights, the outdoors, etc are the worst places for me to be.

Those are my main things. Last time I went to the eye doctor was early 2014 when I got new glasses and everyone just thinks I need stronger glasses and that's why I'm having these problems but I'm petrified it's something else. I don't have any eye problems in my family history that I know of, and I don't know why now all of a sudden I'm having these issues. Can anyone help ease my mind?
