I once had the shell of a birdseed lodge in my eye when I was blowing the shells from eaten seeds out of my bird's food cup. Also went to the hospital emergency room where they took it out. It was quite uncomfortable - scratchy anytime I blinked. I was left with a scratched cornea that took about a week to heal. I was told to follow up with an ophthalmologist, which I did.

It began bothering you again after the anesthetic wore off. Perhaps the chip didn't embed in your eye but just scratched it; if so, it'll bother you less as it heals. Rather than go to another hospital I'd recommend you see a trusted ophthalmologist if you're still worried. If there's a scratch, the doc may want you on an antibiotic drop until healed.

Good luck!
