Ive searched all over the internet to find this problem but ive found only 1 small article that didn't explain anything.

I have permanent veins that have developed on the white of my eyes all over my eyes. Throughout the day i can feel them pulsating and twitching on my eye, my eyelids also twitch frequently. The veins started developing about 2 years ago but now are more prominent and longer and have spread off into spiderweb formation. The majority of them are ontop of my eye under the eyelid.

I dont know whats causing this, does anyone else have this problem and most importantly what is the medical term for it? Some other problems i had are flashing lights occasionaly, floaters and also white spots rarely appear and move along my vision. I also can feel them pressing against my eyelids they are so thick its interfering with my comfortability and sanity.

The veins/blood vessels make me feel very bad about myself in an aesthetic manner, and has brought down my confidence severley because i was told by one person they are "feeder" veins and cannotbe removed unless dorment. I have no idea why the eye needed to create these blood vessels, does anyone have any information on this?
Hi Ashy,

After this blood vessels/veins formation do you have any change in your vision? Is the vision same as before the formation of veins.Don't worry about it.Consult a opthamologist.Only after analysing about your eye in person, we can come to a conclusion about the problem. So better consult the doctor in person.
I recently got tested in my eyes, they looked into the back of my eyes at a hospitol and said there was no problems, my vision is ok, slightly deteriated and the jelly in my eye is turning into water slightly but my vision is OK. i do have floaters still and white dots ocuring. But today ive noticed a round small black dot growth on my eye, what is that? also the veins are developing even more now and coming into all over my eyes so you can see them without lifting my eyelid up, someone please tell me whats going on?
I had a similar problem develop a couple years ago. I'm not an expert on this, but I did a lot of research. In my case, the blood vessels started appearing due to dry eye. I became sensitive to air conditioning and staring at a computer screen. When I use artificial tears, the veins become less enflamed and less noticable unless you are 12 inches from my face. The visine drops are good for temporarily constricting the blood vessels, but they should not be used often because they can make the problem worse.

You mentioned you went to a hospital, I wouldn't do that. I would see a licensed opthamologist who sees theses problems everyday. Especially if your vision is being affected. My problem is simply cosmetic, but if vision is involved...see a specialist!

Also, I heard formation of blood vessels can be a sign of high blood pressure. See an opthamologist!
I wear contacts 12 hours a day and developed the same type of veins. My eye doctor told me it is because of lack of oxygen to my eyes. Basically the contact lenses are cutting off the oxygen to my eye. If you don't wear contacts then I have no idea. Definitely see a specialist regarding this. I also learned I have dry eyes so this may be the cause as well.

What you are describing is exactly what I have been dealing with too. I wish I knew an answer, I am dying to figure out what the problem is. Just one question, are the veins in your eyes itchy as well? Mine itch to no end and I feel the same weird twitching sensation you do. The majority of my red veins are in one eye and under the eyelid as well. I hope we can find a cure for this soon. Doctors don't understand the depression that can accompany having your eyes feeling and looking so awful. The fact that it's permanent makes it even worse, I know.
Malikhad,

Would you happen to know the medical term for the above?
thanks!
