Eye & Vision Board Index

Well, it's been a month now since my vitrectomy, and I was doing very, very good. I could read things again, including text from my monitor without having to increase the size.

This morning, I woke up and had blood in my eye. No, not blood from the surgery (at least I don't think so), but it was thicker and stuck in my eye longer than normal. Then, within 30 minutes, the blood turned into a white cloud, much like I was seeing the day after the surgery.

I realize that my eye was bleeding after the surgery (due to the blood FROM the surgery) and it would stay in my eye for maybe a few seconds before disappearing, and it never caused vision problems. That was normal for a few weeks, according to my doctor.

However, this didn't just disappear, and there's that white haze over my eye now.

I've got an appointment in about three hours, but I want to know if anyone else has had this problem before. I'm hoping it's just another temporary thing...because they performed laser to close up all those blood vessels, and I've been running very good blood sugars, so how the heck could they develop so quickly, and break again, after the vitrectomy?

Thanks.
