I am scheduled to have bursitis surgery on the ball of my foot in 6 weeks. Has anyone else had this done?

They are removing bursa sac that is inflamed and painful as well as the nerve causing burning sensations. I am aware that my 3rd & 4th toes will go numb and I may not have sufficient padding afterwards on ball of my foot.

I have a top notch orthopedic surgeon who operates on professional athletes doing my surgery. Had 3 opinions from different doctors. Feel I did my homework yet still nervous about going forward. I am in a lot of pain, can't be active, difficulty walking more than 2-3 blocks. This surgeon thinks my situation will be better after surgery, but what little I have read on here is alarming.

Do people post positive threads after positive surgery? If so, would love to hear from you! This will be my 4th surgery on this foot in last 2 years. Arch reconstruction, bunionectomy, straighten toes, screw loose, do it again, wowsa! Maintaining positive attitude! Only have to be on crutches 2 weeks with bursa surgery! Can do that in my sleep!

6 weeks and counting. Would love to hear from you! I would be more than happy to discuss my foot surgeries. Located in Southern California.
Yes, the removed the end part of the nerve between the 3rd and 4th toes so it is numb. That was about 13 years ago and I don't even notice it any longer. The other surgeries were a cheilectomy on both big toe joints (I love high heels and they have ruined my feet) so I am very sympathetic to all athletes with turf toe! And 5 weeks ago I had my right big toe joint fused due to continual damage to the joint and no cartilege left in the joint.
