I didn't know where else to go. I hope someone can give me some help here. I have been noticing the past few weeks that in the morning my big toe has gone numb. It has a pins and needle feeling, and feels very uncomfortable when I walk. It has done that a few other times through out the day, but mostly I the mornings. I am 22 years old and pretty healthy. This problem has become quite annoying and is getting worse by the day. Does anyone know what could be causing this? should I consult my doc about this? Could it be seriuos? I have waited it out for a while hoping it would go away. It hasn't yet.
Hi there - just wanted to let you know you're not alone. I had the exact same problem after my foot surgery - the big toe would be on fire with pins and needles, mostly when I was in bed, but sometimes during the day, too. It was on the foot I didn't have surgery on, too. It lasted for about two months, and then stopped. Best I can figure, it had something to do with me having to lay on my back most of the time because of the surgery. Once the cast was removed (after two months) it was much easier to lay on my side, and then the big toe problem disappeared. Maybe a nerve was being pinched from being on my back... I don't know if that's what's happening to you, but maybe try a different sleeping position........ good luck!
