[QUOTE=prisc1125;3701998]Hi Wakkochic17
Out of curiosity, how would you describe a tailor bunion surgery compared to a regular bunion? What was the recovery like? And was there hardware involved?

I might have to have this down the road. Bunion surgery was painful, but the recovery was harder than I expected (not driving and being limited).

it was definitely easier. The pain right after surgery was similar with swelling and all, but it was a much faster recovery. My doctor used removeable pins, but some may use screws. Probably between the bone being smaller and less pressure is put on that part of the foot and joint when walking, helps things heal easier. I had the pins in for 3 weeks and then it took about a week of getting used to walking again. Then just had to wait for swelling to go down and tenderness to go away to get into regular shoes again. I had both my surgeries in warm months so velcro sandals were my friend.
