... I had an Austin-Akin bunionectomy 30 days ago. What you describe is completely normal- you just need to keep trying and you'll find that your toe will start to "obey" you over time. Also, you can gently move the toe manually with your hand- google for "bunion surgery exercise" and you'll find a Kaiser-Permanente site with good exercises on it. If you use Google, it should be... ... I am nine days post-op and I am wearing the boot. I only wear my boot when I am getting up to walk anywhere, be it bathroom or going OUT when I am sick of being inside! LOL Other than that, I keep the boot off. Too uncomfortable otherwise. My stitches are out next week. BUt then I still have to wear this boot for about three weeks after that! Kassy : ) (7 replies)
