... One tip about crutches. Things are coming back to me as I use mine. When you are going down stairs or down a slope, IF you have access to a railing, use it instead of a crutch. You put BOTH crutches next to your good leg and hold onto both crutches with one hand. Then you use the railing in place of the crutch. ... (19 replies)

... d consequent arthritis problems. I was told I had to be totally non weight bearing for at least 6 weeks, probably more likely 8 or more and that I would need to use crutches or a knee walker.
