Yes.....the same. I am very dizzy right now. Tried to pay bills online and feel faint right now. This is killing me.........I have a very strong and healthy body. I am in great shape.............everyone tells me I look great, not my age at all. I am a mom of two grown kids, I have a life, but not anymore. I am dizzy, my ears are clogged and i have major anxiety. It has ruined my marriage, on and on. I dont know where to turn anymore. I have taken robitussin this morning and it just makes more mucous. My head sounds like i have echos in it. constantly. My ears feel like sponges are in the tubes. That is how I describe it. Bubbles and fullness and junk in there. Are you dizzy with it???? Vertigo is horrible for me.

Hi Lib:
How did your doctor appointment go? I went to an internist on the fly yesterday to have him look in my ears. He said there was nothing in there! Now that contradicts what the other guy said last week. This guy said and insisted that it is still my TMJ. He told me this a year ago and I didnt believe him. Sent me on a quest to ENT's over and over with nothing. My question is if this is TMJ then how can I have the fluid in there and the sinus pressure like it is a sinus problem instead! He said the feeling of fluid is from spasms. The muscles contract and tighten and then everything basically swells up inside and cant drain properly. This sucks........I have been given some xanax and am afraid to take it because I think it will make me more dizzy. I have to try tho. My ear drums feel wierd too. Sometimes I cant differentiate where sounds come from, which direction. Sometimes it feels like cotton in there and hearing gets muffled. Do you get panic attacks from this? I do.....Every morning when I get up I freak out like it is going to happen again and again for the rest of my life. Right now my eustachian tubes feel like they are stuck together when I swollow or yawn. It makes me clench and my muscles in my neck and shoulders get tight. The only relief is when I go to my gym and heft the weights that I do. I dont think about it as much. Maybe you have TMJ also. Has that been a question to rule out for you?

hi, only got the scan done, i dont know the results yet. i have not been checked for tmj, i will. i cant tell you how many people did not see fluid in my ears either, only the p.a.. all the ents said they looked fine. i have been diagnosed with mieneres, migraine, you name it, how about you? are you on hormones if so i did read they can affect your eustachian tubes. yes i get very anxious over this, i cant sleep at night, wake up dreading the next day. do you get migraines? what kind of noise do you get when you yawn? do you get rattling waving ear drums when you talk? my ears pop with just movement of my body, i live in v.a. there is a specialist in boston, i made an appointment with him, first ava was july first! i am going to see what this scan says and i will see what the other dr. has to say, go get checked for tmj, and on. i get this strange clicking sound when i talk, it sounds like it is comeing from the roof of my mouth off to one side, do you get that? hope we are both out of this mess soon! libby
I have had the same problem since late Oct. 03. After going to an ENT on several occassions I have yet to find out anything that works. I'm going to a chiropractor now as a last gasp hope... How did they determine that your tubes were working normally? Have they done a scan? My ENT finally told me it was nerve damage and said see you in 6 months. I still have no idea how he came to that conclusion. I hope your problem turns out better than mine! I must say this board has been a godsend; at least you know that your not alone...the first two months of the clog I though I would go crazy...finding others like me did seem to help! Good Luck
Hi Al: Yes, they found the tubes were working "normaly" by scoping me twice. Two different ENT's said they were airating normally. Meanwhile, an MD said I have fluid in there called it serus otitis or glue ear that little kids get. So how could specialists not see anything like that and an MD saw what I feel??? He even said the left ear is not as clogged as the right and that is the sensation I have. I tried aquatab D and it made it worse, which leads me to believe that there is a problem. I have very viscouse mucous in the morning in the sinus and ears. I think there is a problem with that. Meanwhile the anxiety is horrendous. I havent had a break at all. I dont know what to do. It is a chronic cycle and makes me dizzy. I dont know how much of the dizziness is coming from anxiety or the ear itself. I feel like I have cotton in my ears and cannot clear the tubes like they are stuck or something. This is a nightmare.........

hi,
my dentist is going to see me today, i will post when i get home!
I see you've both been banned...but I hope your still reading this anyway.
Have they never once considered allergies?????
That surprises me!
I have pretty severe Eustachian Tube Dysfunction brought about by allergies. Meaning my entire ET track will be swollen..first my sinuses, get sinus headaches, runny nose, sneezing, then my ears, pressure & pain, can't pop it out, muffled hearing, then when its really bad..my throat gets sore and swollen, sometimes 2 the point where I can't eat. In the past few years i've had dangerous throat infections..ones that have left me dehydrated b/c I couldn't eat or drink my throat was swollen 2 begin with, then it swelled an outrageous amount with the infection. I have had 2 switch medications several times b/c my throat is constantly swollen & I can't take most pills unless they are advil size or smaller. I was on Allegra in the beginning 4 all this, but it got 2 big 2 be swallowed..now I am on Clarinex. In the beginning I had sinus infections all the time, then I started feeling like I had ear infections..it was actually ETD from the imbalance of pressure between my sinuses and ears. I've been on Flonase, Clarinex, Singulair daily which helps a ton 2 keep me better, then Sudafed 4 flare ups. If I'm having a severe allergy flare up(generally i'll have hives/rashes & asthma problems also) then prednisone usually helps. I'm constantly congested & my ears hurt almost everyday. I do get dizzy when I get sinus infections or a cold you know why dizziness happens..when the sinuses under your eyes are full, they cause dizziness. So i've heard. I have a few ideas of what I know i'm allergic 2 by trial & error & observation(dust, pollen, mold, trees/grass, various skin allergies) but I am not able 2 be allergy tested(2 bad of skin allergies) which makes shots out of the question also. I've noticed so far the WORST feeling is when you feel the mucus dripping down your ET..from your ear past your nose 2 your throat..its just like you wanna reach in somehow and scratch it! ahhhh sorry 2 be gross but i'm sure you have the same thing. When i'm not doing well also I notice that I wake up with uneven pressure on my ears depending on what side I sleep on. Flonase & Clarinex are VITAL 2 maintain at least me being able 2 get up in the morning and feel somewhat ok at least. So they do help. But during some bad allergy attacks or sickness nothing helps. I thinky ou both should consult an allergist and have allergy testing done..or have an IgE count 2 see if allergies is the culprit. That could be why they aren't seein anything. Also it could very well stil lbe sinusitis..it coudl be that it's deep in the sinuses, and very backed up..IV antibiotics & sinuneb coudl help. Just some thoughts. Hope I helped you guys..!

hi, been tested for allergies, only dust and dustmites. i am on nasonex and claratin and it has not helped all this ear stuff. do you get reverberation in your ears? how bout rattling ear drums when talking, popping crackling and thumping? i dont know if it is edt or pet, i can breath air into my ears can you? thanks for all your info, may try the clarinex ! lib
Today I had a really scary thing happen..when I woke up, my ears/sinuses were pounding. I walked out to take a shower..and suddenly I felt as if everything was spinning & shifting around me. It was pretty scary..I just crumpled 2 the floor, tried 2 get up but I fell over..my mom had 2 help me get 2 the couch so I could lay down. I felt sooo dizzy..if I moved even my toes I felt even more dizzy. I slept for a few hours then I felt better but my ears & sinuses still hurt..took my meds..but still they hurt..so today I saw my PCP & he thinks it's a sinus infection seeing my symptoms have all gotten worse & the dizziness in the past week so..i'm on Levaquin 500mg for 10 days now(blah I hate Levaquin) & Sudafed EVERYDAY..gonna try Astelin if those don't work..and if not...well..I dunno. He didn't see any fluid in my ears, but of course he saw the congestion in my nose. I don't know what 2 do..i'm afraid..that was one scary thing this morning..i'm afraid of where this is all going 2, I don't know what's going on..=(
Hi everyone,
How's lib and demi? I'm posting cause i'm disgusted. I went to a neuro,he was a private one at that. He had 2 letters in front of him from ents saying there was nothing wrong with my ears, but as soon as I came into his office he got onto one of his ent buddies and started asking about how can he test for fistulas. I was trying to tell him that i think it is a joint or muscle problem and i happened to metion this board and someone on it with almost same symptoms as me and she has tmj. Then he jumped straight down my throat by saying 'it's not tmj,you go on the internet and you imagine all your symptoms' and just about pushed me out of his office saying he will write to my doctor. Get this though-he didn't even examine me. Now my doc will get a letter from him saying there's nothing wrong with me,and he has 2 letters from ents saying there's nothing wrong,so i don't think he will refer me to any more specialists. I've just about had it,i don't imagine symptoms. At the moment my ears click or pop everytime i swallow, the left side of my face hurts a bit,my neck is pulling like crazy and my neck and back hurt,if i turn my head it pulls at my ears. I can only stay up for about 4 hours before everything starts pulling and my head gets tighter and i get dizzier. I'm sure it's a joint or muscle problem because when i wake in the morning i feel a bit dizzy but not too bad,it only starts when i start moving around. Also if i take xanax i feel better, but i can't take them now because of a liver problem. My vision gets blurry sometimes too. Who can i go to for help now? I saw the government dentist today for some fillings and i mentioned tmj to him and he said it doesn't make you dizzy. I'm getting nowhere with doctors and i'm really upset, this is ruining my life.Does anyone think a chiropractor could help, can they order xrays?.Smebody has to help me before i go completely crazy.
