Hearing Disorders Message Board

Hearing Disorders Board Index

I have this problem for about 5 years now. I don't think it ever will go away. I clearly can hear my pulse in my ear 24/7. I don't know if it gets louder somtetimes or if I'm just more aware of it sometimes. It is the sound of my pulse, for sure. When I get up from a chair my pulse speeds up a little and I can hear that in my ear. After all these years I'm very use to it, it's just like a "beating clock" in the room. I thought maybe age has something to do with it, I'm in my seventies, but I see on this board that very young people seem to have the problem.

My doctor told me once to take a certain pill...forgot the name....I took it for a few months but nothing changed, so I stopped the pill.
About two years ago I went to see an ear doctor, he sent me for a test, I thought it was a test to find out what's wrong, it turned out he sent me for a hearing test!!!! Nothing wrong with my hearing. He more or less told me I just have to live with it, didn't seem to know what's causing it.
