Thanks for the tip and believe me, an ENT is in the works. I saw our regular physician yesterday who made the referral for a specialist about this problem. We know it is not tinnitis just because it is not chronic or noticable in quiet environments...this problem is excited by sound and sounds a lot like a raspy radio speaker when talking, whistling or playing a wind instrument (I am a bass trombonist). I comes and goes episodically; I experience it for perhaps an hour at a time and then it clears-up for a while. When I have to get my voice above a certain level (as I often have to do as a high school music teacher), I often find this problem becomes more noticable. Has anyone else experienced anything like this themselves?
