| I was diagnosed with hep c about 11 years ago. I failed interferon treatment but have never tried any of the newer treatments. Over the last year, I have developed very swollen feet and ankles, shortness of breath with the least amount of activity, weakness, and extreme fatigue. I am only 37. My liver enzymes have never been normal since my diagnosis, and are always at least three times above normal. The slightest bump will cause a bruise, and I bleed very easily. I am scared, but I don't want to see a physician. Even with my diagnosis of hep C, I continued to drink regularly after the initial diagnosis. However, I have only drank occasionally over the last few years. Do my symptoms seem consistent with progression of my hep C? I just wondered what sort of symptoms other people with hep c experience. My liver biopsy 10 years ago showed moderate to severe activity with moderate to severe fibrosis..whatever that means. Any input and/or advice would be helpful. Thank you. |
