Hey everyone! I took shot #9 this past Thursday evening. I'm doing fairly well, as far as I'm concerned.

The side effect I notice most is that I'm severly fatigued most of the time, and have cut work hours accordingly and possibly may have to stay off work for awhile. My white blood cell count is down to 2 and hemoglobin is dropping now to around 10 (from 16 when I started). The doctor has put me on neupogen for white blood cell rebuilding and B-12 shots to see if that will help the hemoglobin.

I guess, for the most part, I'm doing OK. I don't have the severe headaches, muscle aches, sleepless nights. I have noticed one weird effect, and it is strange. When I began my first few weeks of treatment, I was dizzy and disoriented and bumped into things a lot. I liken it to being a bit high on pot or tipsy. It was scary for me because I am a recovering alcoholic/addict and it reminded me of my drinking and pot-smoking days!!! I would attribute the dizziness and high-feeling to the ribavirin because there was a warning lable on the Rebetol bottle cautioning against dizziness. Oh!, I did have some irritating itching the 2-4th week, but the only thing I'm dealing with now is just the nasty fatigue!

I started yoga classes to help with the stretching, but am scared to death that I will catch something at the healthclub, with my white blood cells being so low right now! That is one of the reasons I am thinking about bugging-out of work for awhile...I work in an office and you know what a breeding ground for disease THOSE places can be!!! But, I'm braving the yoga because the exercise puts me in a good mental place.

The up-side to all of this is the pegasys is helping my HIV!!! My HIV viral load is now undetectable and T-cell counts are around 650 (with normals ranging 500-1000) I had the Hep C viral loads done on Thursday, also. So, we'll wait to see what week 8 results will bring. My Hep C viral load wasn't high to begin with, because I caught the Hep C and sought treatment so quickly after acquiring it. I'm expecting good results at the end of week 12.

I'm just hoping to get some of my strength back in the next few months, with blood cell counts that have gone back up. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!!!!!
